Well this picture seems to confirm Olmert’s statement that they’re going to bring us back 20 years. A statement that was picked up by all the “tantes” (aunts) in Beirut, who were endlessly repeating this phrase at all possible social gatherings: “Je pense qu’ils vont nous ramener vingt ans en arrrierre!” They would add: “ils ont pris le peuple libanais en otage.” I will comment on such things at another time.
In any case, I think, on the contrary, that we Lebanese may have jumped ahead of the rest of the planet and toward the future by lessening our reliance on automotive transportation!
