Disinformation and arrogance

I come to believe that there a different ways Americans value the lives of citizens.
On CNN today I almost choked on my food when Israeli General Ruth Yaron explained how civilians stayed in targeted areas against their will to serve as shield. Seriously who can buy this talk? So the Khezballah (Israeli accent) is in the same time not letting civilians leave, waging a guerrilla, trying not to make themselves visible, and hiding behind civilians…

By the way CNN spent the whole day talking about Haifa who had accidentally 3 dead today, because of an attack that Khezballah claimed it was answering for the targeting of residential areas in the suburbs of Beirut that kills more than 30 people per day. The whole day interviewing Israeli officials, mayors, truck drivers, people, going into shelters. bouhou demons outside poor Israelis wake up to your condition of spoiled mediatized people. ask yourself how mediocre your government has been in handling this issue!

30 Syrians were killed in a factory in the Bekaa, for no good reason, every day you have 30 to 40 people getting killed in Lebanon and CNN only focuses on Haifa and other events taking place in Israel. I’m looking at CNN and the only thing I see is how Haifa residents are psychologically weakened in their shelters, how confusion spreads in Israel due to the “terror” attacks.

Please somebody do something… Somebody open another TV station in the US! This can’t last, I have friends having nervous breakdown over there… Where was CNN when the Qana massacre happened? Did you guys saw the babies completely disfigured being carried out of the crumbling building?

By the way, even Ehud Olmert did not raise the “human shield” argument when answering to a press question that because the Kosovo war was handled the same way and many civilians were killed, the Israelis should not receive moral preaching from anyone.

Today Condoleeza Rice said after pushing everyone to vote for the infamous UN security resolution that actually gives the possibility for Israel to legitimately fuck Lebanon (following the expression of a good friend), that it is not sure Hezbollah will accept to stop firing. Why? Oh why? Weren’t the rules of the game simple for everyone to see? I mean you’re the secretary of state of the US and you can’t understand that Hezbollah is reacting to Israeli aggression?

Let’s keep something clear in mind: Israel started the war. Nobody in the history of wars responds to a simple kidnapping of soldiers by waging a war. Then, the next thing we need to keep in mind is that Hezbollah clearly states that it will stop its rocket attack once Israel stops its invasion of the country and its targeting of infrastructure, etc. So can we make it simpler to you? Stop invading the country, stop thinking you can’t take out a group that has taught you the most humiliating defeat. Go back home and stop destroying. Stop taking orders from the Americans. Negotiate, and you’ll see very moderate views exchanged. Step down from your pedestals, and stop thinking that you’re fighting terror. Because you are the terror caused to millions of people here.

most news in the U.S. is horribly biased…one place to look for a more informed view is Democracy Now!
which has TV & radio shows. you can listen to the shows and read the transcripts on the website.

i have your blog linked from mine and i am translating parts of Lebanese blogs from French into English. this is one way i can help to make tiny cracks in U.S. media. in solidarity – Sandra
    my blog is

  2. 03:10 Israel to hit strategic infrastructure, symbols of the Lebanese government (Haaretz)

    Je n’arrive plus à penser.

  3. Let’s keep something clear in mind: Israel did not start the war.
You are SOOOO used to think that Lebanon can allow HA to attack Israel with impunity, it is unbelievable.
Wake up! THere are international laws. You attack, you get it back (or, in modern formulation, “violence leads to violence”).

“Nobody in the history of wars responds to a simple kidnapping of soldiers by waging a war.”
Do you remember why the first WORLD war started? A little incident in Saraevo?
Formally, Israel even did not start the war because YOU did not bother to finish the previous one.

“Negotiate, and you’ll see very moderate views exchanged.”
Thanks, these view were recently clearly explained once again by Ahmadinejad.
I do not know what are “non-moderate” views then.

And why you did not exchange them before, may I ask?
You mean, the IDF actions moved you to the right direction?
Or is it just a coincidence, that you started to think about peace with Israel right now?

  4. You are SOOOO used to think that Lebanon can allow HA to attack Israel with impunity, it is unbelievable.

nobody acted in impunity, there were red lines agreed on between israel and hezb. in any case israel already showed that it was planning for going to war with or without a pretext. read my dear propagandist.

You should re-read ahmadinajad discourse but with a good translation (not the MEMRI one for example). You’ll find many surprising things…

Also negotiate is what hezb is calling for since the beginning. prisoners, plus maps, plus shebaa. Of course we don’t want peace with a murderous country. negotiation is not asking for peace. check the dictionary.

the IDF actions moved you to the right direction?

the IDF showed me that it is the most mediocre army in the world made up of cowards and stupidly destructive murderers. so if the right direction i moved in is disgust, yes.

Also if you continue posting stupid comments on my blog you will be blocked for good. Please I don’t have time to explain basic politics to a brainwashed kid. thank you

  5. Poul, who exactly are you addressing? Are you crying out to be saved, or are you truly committed to murdering yourself? Try a helpline.

Here’s a delicious bit of reality – Israel’s pet mogul & champion Rupert Murdoch & his propagandists getting a right royal arse-kicking from King George Galloway:

Listen to the blond talking head crumble…a poetic echo of Israel’s rusty PR machine disintegrating before our very eyes.

Sandra, Democracy Now! is still slightly too frightened to dive in. For commentary that pulls no punches, check out:

But you can’t beat the blogs: angry arabs, kerbloggers, anarchistians and brilliantly pessimistic yawns of course…

  6. how kind of you to answer to our dear mitrii,
it’s okay, he’s just a kid…or I hope he is too old to join the IDF…
    anyway, bech, nice article…

  7. “legitimately fuck”– fantastic. i’ve been thinking about the rape of lebanon for awhile, which may help to redress the question of who started this (searching for word but none are sensational enough).

my take? hezbollah provoked israel, who uber-reacted like a drunk frat boy with freudian issues and began to gang-rape lebanon.

which takes us into the whole grey area of, is the woman wears a red dress and stilettos, is she asking for it? NO!! she’s been violated. when’s the last gang rape to go on for 27 days??!?!

in other words, hezbollah’s homicides and kidnappings set this off but israel took what has been an ongoing cycle of prisoner exchanges and transformed it into a holocaust.

    as for diatribes against cnn,
bechir, you underestimate the scale of the media industry!!! or at least those of us who are denizens of the blue states. i’m a bit of a luddite myself and only watch cnn when i’m sitting in the airport, but there’s also these places to turn to:

salon.com: one of the first online indie dailies, with great/controversial investigative reporting. see the article that disabuses hezbollah of using human shields:

freepress.net: a friend organized this lobby to systematically depose conglomerated, consolidated media imperialists.

and some more fav spots on the internet:

  8. I lived until 2002 in a small southern village near Mardshajund that is inhabited by a majority of Shias like me. After Israel left Lebanon, it did not take long for Hezbollah to have its say in other towns. Received as successful resistance fighters and armed to the teeth, they stored rockets in bunkers in our town as well. The social work of the Party of God consisted in building a school and a residence over these bunkers! A local sheikh explained to me laughing that the Jews would lose in any event because the rockets would either be fired at them or if they attacked the rockets depots, they would be condemned by world opinion on account of the dead civilians. These people do not care about the Lebanese population, they use them as shields, and, once dead, as propaganda. As long as they continue existing there, there will be no tranquility and peace.
