Saudi Arabia Asks U.S. to Intervene in Lebanon

according to the Washington post:

The Saudi foreign minister personally urged President Bush yesterday to intervene to stop the violence in Lebanon, the most direct sign of mounting frustration among key Arab states with what they see as a hands-off U.S. posture toward Israeli strikes against Hezbollah.

In an Oval Office meeting yesterday afternoon, Prince Saud al-Faisal said, he delivered a letter to Bush from Saudi King Abdullah asking for U.S. help in arranging an immediate cease-fire, a stance U.S. officials have repeatedly rejected on the grounds that it is premature. U.S. officials would not comment directly on the request, saying only that the two sides discussed the humanitarian situation, reconstruction and how to end the violence.

So if I was an Iranian, what would I do? Let’s play this game shall we? you play the Saudi, and I play the Iranian (it was a completely neutral choice I swear!). Would you have a Risk board? I take the black!

I mean where the heck are you when Yahweh’s “compassionate” thugs badly need you??

The problem with that approach is that there is no way to guarantee that Hezbollah stops. Sure, you can get a ceasefire but for how long? Eventually Hezbollah will fire a rocket or murder or kidnap again and you have the same situation forever.

We have tried ceasefires for decades and they haven’t worked. One definition of insanity is to continue doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result. If you have a ceasefire and Hezbollah breaks it, then have another ceasefire and Hezbollah breaks it, then have another ceasefire and Hezbollah breaks it, at what point does it finally sink in that maybe a ceasefire with Hezbollah isn’t going to work?

The time has come for governments to be held accountable for the actions of terrorist groups operating in their country. This notion that a government can somehow be held harmless for the actions of groups operating within is completely insane.

Organizations such as Hezbollah are primarilly criminal organizations. They lie, they murder, they kidnap, they trade in illegal weapons. They delude people into thinking that their hirabah is jihad. They have used religion to dupe the people into allowing them to gain power when they are nothing more than a gang taking advantage of the people’s’ faith in their religion. The Christian Gospel of Matthew warns of this (modern translation)

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves”

And that is what these leaders of Hezbollah and Iran are. They use people’s belief in God to gain personal power and care nothing for how many people are slaughtered in the process. They make the people desire to die. This is insanity. Is religion now a doctrine of death, destruction, slaughter and mayhem? To them any crime is justified because they convince people that their cause is just.

These people are doing the work of Satan and are convincing people they are doing the work of God.

  3. I can tell you what Hizbollah/Iran has in store for Israel (and as a side effect Lebanon):

    The Doves of Hizbollah.

Hossein Safiadeen also reinforced earlier threats by Hizbullah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah to widen the scope of attacks, which have included unprecedented missile strikes deep into northern Israel.

“We are going to make Israel not safe for Israelis. There will be no place they are safe,” Safiadeen told a conference that included the Tehran-based representative of the Palestinian group Hamas and the ambassadors from Lebanon, Syria and the Palestinian Authority.

“You will see a new Middle East in the way of Hizbullah and Islam, not in the way of Rice and Israel.”
